Instructor - Legal Support teaches courses in the discipline area of legal support services. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Legal Support provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Legal Support typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.   • Job Description

    You will be leading firearms classes in retail environment with law-abiding citizens who are paying customers to become certified for concealed carry permits or to advance their firearms skills You will be Legal Heat’s local ambassador to the store and develop strong relationships with the store staff and management while projecting a positive image for Legal Heat. You will present our sponsor’s products in a positive educational format during our classes.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Engage and instruct students in a safe and entertaining manner
    • Maintain store relationships in positive manner
    • Present sponsored products in positive and informative manner
    • Maintain a safe classroom environment
    • Maintain a safe range environment (if required)
    • Travel to other locations within the region, occasionally overnight or on weekends

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications

    • State and region-specific gun and training licenses and certifications required
    • NRA Basic Pistol or NRA Law Enforcement Pistol Instructor Certification
    • One year or more CHL certification instruction experience required
    • One year or more firearms safety and handling instruction experience required
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • 21 years of age or older required
    • Willing to travel within region for training required
    • Must have engaging public speaking skills required
    • Must be able to control a classroom environment safely required
    • Must have, or be willing to obtain, firearms instructor insurance with at least $2MM per incident / $2MM in aggregate coverage required
    • Must have, or be willing to obtain, “tools of the trade” to deliver classes including computer, projector, projector screen, digital camera, passport photo printer, training guns, and ancillary equipment required
    • Fingerprinting experience desirable, willingness to perform fingerprinting services as necessary required
    • Additional military and / or law enforcement as well as legal backgrounds preferred
    Skills in advanced firearms and tactical training, tactical medical and / or non-lethal defense instruction preferred
