Under general supervision of Engineering manager(s), this position is responsible for providing cost effective support and assistance to supervision and staff engineers for construction, maintenance, and contract management of the utility’s facilities and assets. Strong aptitude for research, analytics, and recordkeeping will be a necessary component.

Performs high quality and professional day-to-day support for the following engineering activities in multiple departments, including understanding of the policies and procedures of the utility, and acts in a manner that coincides with the utility’s strategic vision and standards:

Educational Requirements
Current student with a sophomore standing or higher and accepted into a program to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
Experience
Entry level engineer internship: engineering experience would include successful acceptance into a college of engineering program and continuing to maintain enrollment in the program with good standing.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of – organizational policies and procedures; department policies and procedures; computer programs; file management; office environment; administrative, scheduling, estimating, manpower, and tracking project tasks
Skill in – operating a personal computer and general office equipment, typing and entering data with speed and accuracy, utilizing MS office products, organization and prioritization, interpersonal skills including clear and concise communication both in writing and verbally.
Special Requirements
A valid State driver’s license with no restrictions is required. Occasional travel to other utility locations required.
Physical Requirements
Majority of work is performed in a standard office setting.
