Key Accountability: Nursing Instructor
- Coaches and guides students by modeling clinical practice through integration of new evidence based practices.
- Coordinates clinical for LPN and/or RN Students.
- Creates an environment of continued learning and critical thinking skills.
- Plans, orients, coordinates, evaluates, and coaches students during the day.
- Works collaboratively with nursing leaders in the departments to create a good learning environment for students.
- Works collaboratively with the local college to meet the needs of the college’s requirements.
- Teaches content as needed to facilitate orientation, staff development and/or safe practice
- Serves as a resource to nursing staff, nursing students, and other health care personnel in the acquisition of knowledge and skills related to nursing knowledge and evidence based practice.
- Assists and provides direction to nursing students with clinical decision-making and priority
- Facilitates clinical documentation standards, workflows and related processes.

- Maintains clinical skills and ability to function clinically in the care of patients.
- Serves as a role model to promote excellence and safety.
- Interprets and communicates across multiple disciplines promoting interdepartmental communication and relationships.
- Follow the shift requirements, processes, procedures and regulations in the department.
- Completes all required documentation per shift.
- Informs appropriate parties if standards of care and performance are not being met.
- Develop a proactive mind set towards the job. Observes opportunities for improvement, formulates ideas, communicates those ideas with their manager and/or other staff, and carries out variations in work habits in continuous quality improvement.
- Perform other duties as directed by a proper authority.
- Responsible for adhering to standards, procedures and goals relating to the Compliance Program
- Expected to report conduct that is known or suspected to be illegal or in violation of the organizational policy. Adheres to hospital and department policies, procedures, objectives, safety, environmental, infection control and quality assurance program.
- Attends meetings as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing – Completed a Bachelor in Nursing Degree
Experience: 2 years of ICU, CCU, ER, or Medical-Surgical Experience
License/Certificates: Maintain RN Licensure to practice in the state of Iowa
Shifts: 4-10 Hour Shifts OR 5-8 Hour Shifts - Weekdays
No Weekends or Holidays!
