POSITION SUMMARY:
The nursing program instructor is responsible for the implementation of the approved nursing program at a local campus & clinical assignments, maintaining quality and regulatory standards, including oversight of students, nursing program policies, and curriculum development and implementation. The director serves as representative of the program other internal and external constituencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Enforce existing college and program policy.
· Monitor the implementation of the systematic plan of evaluation.
· Train and teach students.
· Assist in the resolution of student and faculty issues.
· Represent the program to the local advisory committee and the state board of nursing.
· Assist in preparation of accreditation materials for school.
· Participate in professional development (i.e. continuing education, professional activities, conference presentations, scholarly publication, etc.)
· Participate in service activities at the school, in the community and at professional levels.
· Other duties as assigned.
WORKLOAD EXPECTATIONS:
This is an hourly position.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES/QUALIFICATIONS:
· Current, active, unencumbered RN or ARPN license or multistate privilege to practice nursing.
· A minimum of an earned graduate degree with a major in nursing from a nurse accredited education program
· 4 years’ clinical experience
· 2 years’ experience in nursing education
· A minimum of 1 year experience in administration or management
· Excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical skills
· Excellent teaching skill and ability to efficiently manage students’ clinical and skills lab activities
· Competent in personal computer applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email
· Ability to manage people and projects
· Current license in states specific to the school’s goals and regulatory standards
· Current license to practice as a registered nurse
· A minimum of two years’ experience teaching in pre or post licensure nursing programs
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands are those required in a professional office setting and higher education teaching environment: communicating with coworkers, presenting to students and faculty, demonstrating procedures and techniques, and getting to and from appropriate classes and offices.

LOCATION:
This position is an onsite position located at your campus unless otherwise determined by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Any changes must be reviewed by the CEO and all final approvals must come from the CEO.
