Instructor - Nursing teaches courses in the discipline area of nursing. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Nursing provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Nursing typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Schreiner University invites applications for an instructor of nursing position in the vocational nursing program. Schreiner University’s BSN program was ranked #2 in state of Texas for 2022 and the online RN to BSN program was ranked #3 in state of TX for 2023 by nursing.org. Our VN and BSN programs had 100% NCLEX pass rate in 2023.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate and/or vocational nursing students in the clinical and/or didactic components of medical/surgical, critical care, sexual and reproductive health, population health, pediatrics, and/or mental health.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing required, master’s degree preferred. A current unencumbered Texas Registered Nurse license and related clinical experience. Teaching experience at the collegiate level both face-to-face and online is highly preferred.
