Health Sciences CTE Teacher

Salary range: $53,339-$94,166

Primary Purpose:  Provide students with a comprehensive, structured approach to meet the academic, technical, social, and experiential needs of students interested in post-secondary training for a career in the medical field.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid Oregon License in a comprehensive medical career with a minimum of 1800 hours clinical experience.
• Valid Oregon Teaching License with a Career and Technical Endorsement in Health Science or ability to qualify and obtain.
• Instructor Certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support or ability to obtain prior to employment
• Certification in FEMA Community Emergency Response Team (urban disaster) Response or ability to obtain.
• Ability to plan and implement lesson plans through direct instruction
• Ability to apply a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media that meets the individual needs, interests, and ability of students.
• Competent in general anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to communicate well with students and professionals using standard medical terminology.
• Basic understanding of human disease and disorders.
• General understanding of the healthcare industry and associated allied healthcare professions.
• Participate in the planning and development of the Health Science Program of Study.
• Bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish preferred.
