**Must be knowledgeable in the requirements set forth in the State of California and Safety Code, Title 22 and the National Standard Curriculum formulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation.** 

***The position will be staffed during normal business hours 0900-1730.  The position is a combination of weekday/weekend schedule as needed for EMT class session.*** 

• Must have reliable transportation to job site
• Must be able to communicate effectively with managerial staff, instructors and students.  
• Must have a current California Driver License 
• Must attain EMT Certification and AHE BLS for Healthcare Provider. 

This individual works with the EMT Program Director and EMT Clinical Coordinator as qualified to teach topics to which he/she is assigned who shall be qualified by education and experience in methods, materials, and evaluation of instruction. ***One of the following must be verified by documentation:***

• California State Fire Marshal (CSFM) "Fire Instructor 1A and 1B"
• National Fire Academy (NFA) "Fire Service Instructional Methodology" course or equivalent. 
• A training program of at least 40 hours of: teaching methodology that meets the U.S. DOT/National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 2002 Guidelines for Educating EMS Instructors, such as the EMS Educator course of the  National Association of EMS Educators

Provide evidence of documentation: 

1. Resume
2. Current EMT-B or EMT-P licenses
3. BLS for HC Providers
4. 2 years (minimum**) in Emergency Medicine

                                            or

***5 Prehospital care (academic or clinical setting)***

• Teach, demonstrate assignment for each module/skills station assigned ensuring that instruction and curriculum is up-to-date and that delivery methods are effective and consistent. 
• Monitor, order and replenish supplies on a regular basis
• Provide course instruction based on approved syllabus/course lesson plans and ensure learning objectives are met.
• Utilize a variety of teaching techniques to accommodate the learning styles of a diverse student enrollment.
• Assist in the administration proctoring and grading of examinations.
• Assist in the development and retention of Externship sites (when called upon) for students through networking and building professional relationships within the EMS community.
• Actively support student retention by keeping accurate daily attendance records and recording absentee information in a roster after each class meeting and communicating any attendance concerns to the EMT Coordinator.
• Tutor and provide student assistance as needed.
• Work with the EMT Coordinator to coordinate the activities associated with clinical rotations (scheduling, transportation, supervision, evaluation, etc.) 
• Maintain professional standards at all times. 
• Maintain all EMT equipment and supplies inventory. 
• Other necessary duties as assigned.

•             Ability to operate all aspects of Microsoft Suite services such as Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook. 
• May be required to: occasionally operate personal or company vehicle to drive to and from special events which may require a AHE presence. 
• Ability to: make critical decisions and exercise sound judgment and provide excellent customer service. 
• Act in accordance with: all company policies and procedures.
