Mississippi Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center (MSDATC) is a private alcohol and drug treatment center in Biloxi, MS.
We provide detox, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. These programs require strong nurses to provide excellent nursing care around the clock! Our current open position is for a PRN Nurse scheduled 1-2 nights per week and participate in a compensated on call schedule.
Initially, we will set up a phone interview and the DON can address any questions you may have during the interview.
You will be responsible for assessments, medication administration, as well as providing general oversight and education to patients. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional. Experience in the field of substance abuse recovery and/or mental health preferred.
Responsibilities
Ensure patient’s status is assessed on an ongoing basis and all pertinent information gathered is documented accurately. Observe, interpret patient’s subjective symptoms and implement appropriate interventions. Notify physician and DON of significant changes in status such as difficulties with detox, medical emergency or change in medical status or regarding response to medications, etc.
Maintain medical records in a modern user friendly EHR.
Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
Accurately administer medications per orders, document accurate count of controlled substances throughout shift.
Inspect the facility and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds as needed etc.).
Provide excellent medical care in emergency situations.
Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients, always promoting a therapeutic milieu.
Skills & Requirements
Unrestricted Nursing License required.
Experience as a Nurse and able to perform autonomously.
Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (evidence based practices, sanitation, decontamination etc.) and adherence to them at all times.
A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsible and self driven.
Outstanding organizational with ability multi-task and adapt as needed.
Patient when required with excellent problem-solving skills.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
