Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Rehabilitation provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Rehabilitation typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Rehabilitation Counselor

  • This Rehabilitation Counselor position serves the Independent Living program for Chatham and Orange counties. The position is located in Alamance County in the Burlington Unit Office. This position will provide counseling services to our consumers. The selected applicant is accountable for the design and implementation of a comprehensive plan of vocational rehabilitation or independent living services for persons with disabilities. Services will be provided to consumers both in person and remotely.

    Job responsibilities include the following:
    • Evaluating professional diagnostic data to determine eligibility and required rehabilitation services
    • Develop a written plan of services in conjunction with the consumer, parent and/or guardian
    • Provide rehabilitation services within the context of a guidance and counseling relationship, and provide supportive counseling
    • Monitor the consumer's progress throughout the service delivery process
    • Work directly with community partners in order to assist individuals with disabilities in becoming suitably employed
    • Document service delivery and case progress in the case management system as required by agency policy

    Master s degree in rehabilitation counseling from an appropriately accredited institution;
