The Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development. The C.N.A. Instructor will be responsible for developing and implementing the C.N.A. program at the College in compliance with the New Jersey Curriculum for Nurse Aide Personnel in Long-Term Care Facilities and specific grant program requirements as necessary. The C.N.A. Instructor will provide students with the skills required to meet a patient's physical, physiological, and psychological needs. The objective of the C.N.A. Instructor is to help students build knowledge and clinical skills aimed at passing the N.J. State Licensing Exam and being emotionally prepared to work in a facility. The Certified Nurses Aid course comprises 90 hours: 50 instructional and 40 clinical laboratory hours.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop C.N.A. course curricula in compliance with state requirements and assist in obtaining program approval
- Teach the C.N.A. training program, covering both course curriculum and clinical lab skills
- Evaluate and document student progress through testing, observation, and skill assessment
- Apply knowledge of the nursing process, standards of care, and sound decision-making in educational activities
- Engage students by facilitating class discussions and hands-on skills instruction
- Set clear expectations, communicate effectively, and encourage active student participation
- Ensure students stay on track with curriculum and assignments
- Maintain accurate student records, including files, attendance, instructional hours, and exam pass rates
- Assist students with registration for the state C.N.A. Licensing Exam
- Perform additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with at least three years of teaching experience
- Experience working with students/employees in long-term care facilities in New Jersey
- Minimum of three years of experience in technology education preferred, but not required
- Registered professional nurse licensed by the N.J. State Board of Nursing
- Completed a training workshop offered by the N.J. State Department of Health for Instructors/Evaluators
- Certified as a DOH Certified Nurse Aide Instructors, becoming DOH Certified Nurse Aide Instructor.
Hourly rate for this position is $60.
