    Duties and responsibilities:

    ISP and CAP Development and Implementation:

    Collaborate with staff and LEA to assess students and develop personalized ISPs based on their unique needs.

    Implement ISP goals and modifications within the classroom setting.

    Regularly monitor and update ISPs in consultation with parents and relevant professionals.

    Differentiated Instruction:

    Modify curriculum content and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students with special education requirements.

    Provide additional support, resources, and accommodations to help students access the curriculum.

    Collaboration and Communication:

    Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.

    Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' progress, challenges, and achievements.

    Behavioral Support:

    Implement positive behavior support strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture.

    Collaborate with parents, administrators, and external professionals to develop and implement behavior intervention plans when necessary.

    Professional Development:

    Stay informed about current trends and best practices in special education.

    Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

    Advocacy:

    Advocate for the rights and needs of students with special education requirements within the school community.

    Work with administrators to ensure that necessary resources and support are available for students with special needs.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, assessments, and ISP documentation.

    Prepare regular reports for parents, administrators, and relevant stakeholders.

    All other duties that are assigned by the principal.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (preferred but not required).

    State certification in Special Education (preferred but not required).

    Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.

    Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to special education.

    Strong communication and collaboration skills.

    Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the academic and social development of students with special needs.
