INSULATION CREW MEMBER

We are looking to add able-bodied insulation crew members to join our expanding crews. As an Insulation Crew Member, you will replace and install weatherization materials to insulate our clients’ buildings. Our Insulators generally work indoors and spend most of their workday standing, bending, or kneeling, often in confined spaces. Install materials may go in walls, ceilings, mechanical rooms, and other spaces to prevent energy loss, control humidity, and maintain comfortable indoor temperatures. Our Insulation Crew Members can work independently or in teams after being given instructions and will likely be working on a variety of projects during the week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in daily meetings to discuss job plans, crew assignments, safety guidelines, schedules, and projected progress
• Insulating and weatherizing homes
• Using cellulose to dense pack walls
• Installing fiberglass or cellulose in attics
• Air sealing attics and basements
• Installing roof vents
• Air sealing windows and plumbing and wire penetrations
• Install door weatherization
• Enter the work zone with the appropriate PPE, which may include dust masks, safety glasses, gloves, specialty footwear and other gear
• Carry supplies from a vehicle or storage area to the installation site
• Use a variety of hand and power tools to cut and install air sealing and insulation materials
• Handle change orders and special requests with grace and patience, following instructions and communicating issues with your foreman
• Show a high regard for safety in all actions, following all company policies and OSHA guidelines that apply to your work setting
• Learn to install new types of products and vary your methods depending on the job and its specifications
• Visit existing homes and commercial buildings to remove and replace material or retrofit a space that was previously uninsulated

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous insulation or light carpentry experience is preferred
• Comfortable in confined, sometimes cluttered conditions
• Comfortable on ladders or staging
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable, on-time and hard-working
• Physical stamina and dexterity to navigate tight spaces
• Previous construction experience

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
