Insurance Accountant jobs in Mount Vernon, NY

• Will feel like a welcomed family member in this position where they are looking for someone that will have a great opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role.
• Will be joining a 5-member shared-finance team and be responsible for balancing books, put dollars and cents behind company policies, incoming premiums, and payouts, and maintaining general ledger.
• Also be working with the firms banks.

• 5-7 years of accounting experience (preferably within the insurance industry)
• Bachelors or Masters in Accounting is a must have (CPA is a plus)
• Solid knowledge of Insurance Accounting Principles, Regulations and Industry Practices is ideal
• Experience Budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis
• Cash flow management
• Experience Preparing Financial Reports and Regulatory filings
• Experience Preparing Journal Entries and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
