Insurance Verification Specialist jobs in Columbia, SC

Carolinas Dermatology and Plastic Surgery is looking for an Insurance Verification Representative to join our team.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for all verification of insurance eligibility, deductible and co-insurance information, and any insurance information directly related to the patient's scheduled appointment
• Required to work the daily scheduled patient appointments, and make sure insurance has been verified/worked prior to the patient's appointment
• Responsible for creating daily work schedule to ensure that all patient encounter forms are worked properly and ready for the next scheduled day
• Responsible for keying in all incoming authorizations for patient appointments, and make sure all authorizations are in good standing and not expired prior to the patients' appointment
• Must be able to obtain necessary authorizations prior to scheduled procedures and/or office visits
• Required to work all surgery appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, deductible and co-insurance information prior to a patients scheduled surgery
• Must be able to communicate with patients and staff members about patient insurance eligibility, deductible and co-insurance information
• Answering all incoming calls related to insurance verification, eligibility, deductible and co-insurance

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years insurance verification experience, preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical health insurance
• Familiar with medical health insurance payers
• Understanding insurance deductibles, co-insurance, co-payments, etc.
• Working knowledge of surgery related inquires with health insurance
• Continued education on medical health insurance
• Computer skills with experience in Practice Management systems and EHR systems, preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $22.50 per hour
