Patient Intake /Office Assistant

Northern Iowa Therapy is seeking a Patient Intake/Office Assistant who combines excellent skills with the ability to function effectively as part of our office team. The ideal candidate will have some experience with Medical Insurance and more than basic Excel experience. Microsoft Office knowledge is required.

This is a Part Time 20 (half time – with partial benefits) or could be a Full Time 30 (30 hours) M-F. FT30 position comes with full medical benefits, PTO, and many other perks!

Ideal Candidate:

• Must have strong computer skills
• Proficient with MS Office
• Great Team Player
• Strong Communication Skills
• Understanding of Medical Insurance – co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, etc.

Primary Duties:

• Patient Information Intake including patient demographics and insurance information
• Understand insurance such as eligibility, authorizations, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.
• Outreach to providers and or patient to complete necessary paperwork
• Utilize experience and judgement to plan, accomplish goals and effectively resolve each task
• Other duties as assigned

Must Haves:

• High school diploma or GED
• Clean driving record
• General knowledge and understanding of insurance.
• Strong computer skills and MS Excel fluency.
• Ability to work well in a team setting and adaptable to a versatile environment with patients, facility staff, family members and, of course, your team members.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills - ability to stay focused, prioritize tasks and stay organized

Really Great to Haves:

• General knowledge of medical terms is helpful
• Understanding of insurance systems is preferable
• Ability to move from one task to another....and another, is helpful

Job Type: Full-time or Part-Time 20
