The Role Itself

The Intake Coordinator answers all inquiry calls regarding treatment and facility, presents treatment options, documents calls, and schedules initial assessments. sets appointments for callers seeking treatment. Coordinator provides referral information when appropriate. Coordinator works to ensure smooth transition into the admission process including explanation of program, transportation, insurance verification.

• Provides Clerical Support to the assessment team and acts as a back up to the front desk receptionist.
• Enters information into computer systems for patient and tracking information.
• Checks all patient belongings and inventories them.
• Processes consent forms and admission documentation.
• Sends appropriate documentation to referral sources.
• Assistance with discharges as needed.
• Schedules appointments for incoming assessments.
• Assists in the orientation of patients to the facility and programs.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or Behavioral Health field is a plus.

Work Experience:

• One (1) year of experience in inpatient mental health is preferred.

• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Teamwork, flexibility needed to fulfill job responsibilities, adapting to changes in work environment and accepting supervisory feedback.
