Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing integrations between the Savas EHR and various EHR/HIS including but not limited to Epic, Cerner, and Meditech. This role requires expertise in API development best practices and strong C# skills for creating RESTful APIs and dynamic data integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design, build, and implement integrations between Epic EHR and other healthcare systems, including but not limited to:
o HL7 and FHIR standards
o Healthcare API interfaces
· Develop RESTful APIs using C# for internal and external integrations.
· Implement API authentication, security, and monitoring to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
· Create and optimize SQL scripts and stored procedures for data manipulation and reporting related to integration workflows.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical, technical, and operational stakeholders, to identify integration requirements and design solutions.
· Develop and maintain detailed documentation of integration designs, configurations, and testing plans.
· Conduct thorough testing and validation of integrations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
· Troubleshoot and resolve integration-related issues, working closely with EPIC support, internal IT teams, and external vendors.
· Stay up-to-date with Epic EHR releases, updates, and best practices, applying this knowledge to optimize integration designs and implementations.
· Participate in ongoing monitoring and maintenance of integrations, ensuring continued performance, reliability, and compliance.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
· Minimum 3 years of experience with EHR integrations, including design, build, and implementation.
· Familiarity with .NET Core/ASP.NET for developing web APIs and integration solutions.
· Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable C# code.
· Experience with ETL processes and integrating data from multiple sources into databases.
· Strong knowledge of SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
· Strong knowledge of HL7, FHIR, API, and data warehousing technologies.
· Knowledge of healthcare data standards, such as ICD-10, CPT, or similar.
· Experience with integration platforms, such as Mirth, Rhapsody, or similar.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
· Epic certification (Epic Bridges)
· Experience with EHR systems, such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similar.
Nice to Have:
· Experience with agile project management methodologies.
· Experience with CI/CD pipelines for integration processes.
· Additional healthcare professional certifications such as HL7 FHIR, CPHIMS, or CHTS.
