Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager manages the interior fabrication of aircraft including mechanics, the fitting of sub-assemblies to the aircraft, and final aircraft interior production. Ensures compliance with all engineering, FAA, and customer regulations and specifications. Being an Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to interior assembly team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Additionally, Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. The Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. To be an Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Language/Communication Skills: The ability to read and interpret documents such as emails, reports, and correspondence. Excellent ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
    • Computer Skills: Proficient working knowledge of computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
    • Mathematical Skills: Ability to use basic mathematics.
    • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
    • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, strict attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize as necessary, with minimal supervisory direction.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Must work well and communicate with others.
    • Technical Skills: Proficient in using various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids (e.g. micrometers, calipers, dial gages, CMM).

    Role: The Quality Inspector inspects parts, assemblies and finished products to drawings and specifications.

    Responsibilities - Quality Inspector:

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Inspect parts, assemblies, and finished products in accordance with contract specifications and/or legal requirements.
    • Follows company's inspection guidelines to conduct critical non-routine visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical test, and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies, and materials.
    • Read and understand Service Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, or any other data approved by the FAA, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable.
    • Perform receiving inspection of new or used parts intended for use on end items.
    • Brief technicians on quality issues and ensure the maintenance personnel performs quality work.
    • Performs complex and critical inspection procedures requiring special set-up of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources.
    • Perform inspection of articles maintained by other facilities contracted by the repair station.
    • Is responsible for ensuring all paperwork is completed and signed in compliance with all existing regulations and procedures.
    • Work in conjunction with the Engineer to create Forms and Routers based on in-house requirements.
    • Perform other duties, as assigned.

    Education - Quality Inspector:

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent

    Experience - Quality Inspector:

    • At least 1 year of related experience and/or education
    • Experience operating or programming CMM equipment a plus.

    Skills - Quality Inspector:

    • Ability to use typical layout inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators and an optical comparator
    • Working knowledge (interpretation) of ASME Y14.5 Standard (GD&T) desired
    • Must be able to add documents and perform inspection / quality system transactions within the company's quality system software (TIPQA)
    • Operating CMM equipment is a plus
    • Continuous improvement mindset and teamwork a must
    • Language: Ability to read/interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
    • Basic Microsoft Office skills required
