Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager manages the interior fabrication of aircraft including mechanics, the fitting of sub-assemblies to the aircraft, and final aircraft interior production. Ensures compliance with all engineering, FAA, and customer regulations and specifications. Being an Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to interior assembly team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Additionally, Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. The Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.     Summary and Objective

    Aircraft Interior Finisher 1 inspect, remove, and install pieces or sections of an aircraft's interior, including carpeting, soundproofing, cabinets, lighting, and walls. This position is for a highly energetic individual with good people skills and decision-making metrics.

    Essential functions

    Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

    • Work from noncomplex blueprints, specifications, worksheet, dimensions, color codes, mixing charts, tables, verbal, and written instructions/specifications.
    • Prepare and clean items, surfaces to be finished.
    • Prepare, mask, sand, buff, repair, and polish aircraft cabinets.
    • Use of bondo and glue.
    • Spraying polyester, polyurethane, and clear coats.
    • Knowledge of paints and being able to mix properly (solvent base, water base, clear coats).
    • Knowing how to do touch ups inside the aircraft in a timely manner.
    • Leather seat prepping, cleaning, and dying.
    • Ability to work with and understand Corridor.
    • Cleaning and maintenance of spray application equipment, booths, filters, PPE, and other equipment to established practices.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Ability to perform inspections and repairs.
    • Ability to learn new skills and methods of repairs.
    • Sufficient oral and verbal communication skills, as needed, to discuss equipment malfunctions and complete reports.
    • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States, must provide two forms of Federal Identification.

    Competencies

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software used to complete and maintain records.

    Supervisory responsibilities

    • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

    Work environment

    • While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and loud noise levels both inside and outside the hangar.
    • Possible exposure to a variety of extreme weather conditions.
    • Exposure to loud noises including airplane machinery and jet engines.

    Physical demands

    • Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces.
    • Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders.
    • Must be able to frequently lift and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds
    • Manual dexterity and physical strength are necessary to operate tools and/or make adjustments and repairs.
    • Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects.
    • The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be 8-12 hours)

    • Some, less than 10%
