Roles and Responsibilities

• Capable of and would enjoy networking within the community for stories.
• Manage designated publications and sections of publications by developing and executing editorial content to CMC Publications standards for print and online, while maintaining accuracy and overall consistency within brand guidelines.
• Assist with development of plan for each publication.
• Research and preparation for editorial plan; visual plan
• Thorough research to become familiar with and reach a full understanding of any given topic for editorial.
• Write, edit, and proofread articles.
• As needed, assign photography, organize visuals, and secure visuals for publications.
• Schedule photo sessions (if needed), work with outside parties to secure pertinent visuals.
• Complete captions for visuals included in articles using knowledge of content.
• Proofread all materials and in some cases send for review by external party.
• Communicate with clients.
• Assist publisher with communication to any parties involved with publications.
• Monitor completion of each publication using project management skills and software to track progress and oversee execution.
• Update progress on shared drive for all projects.
• As needed, assist with distribution plans and execution of deliveries.
• Assist with website content if needed.

• Establish and uphold the highest standards to include personal conduct, patience and pleasant interaction with all parties involved with publications, magazine content: editorial, quality of photography, accuracy, layout.

CMC Publications, LLC, is a leader in print and online magazine publications in the Chattanooga area (SE TN and N GA). The company publishes three titles and 17 magazines over the course of a year. These include CityScope® and HealthScope® magazines and Choose Chattanooga® * Chattanooga Resource and Relocation Guide®. All are of the highest quality and premier, glossy publications.

In addition to print publications, the company directs several different company websites and various social media platforms.

CityScope® and HealthScope® magazines have been serving the SE TN and N GA markets for 31 and 35 years respectively. This year will be the 14th year that the company publishes Choose Chattanooga® * Chattanooga Resource and Relocation Guide®. Each publication can be seen in print and online.

In addition to its publications, the company operates Digital Smart Marketing, a full-service digital marketing company .This business unit provides strategic digital marketing solutions to customers.

CMC Publications is a family business. The company is very involved with supporting the local community. Every year CMC Publications leads the Moth Ball® by CityScope® which raises money for non-profits that benefit women in need. To date, the company has gifted nearly $500k to local non-profit organizations. Additionally, it has provided over $1.5MM of complimentary ads to non-profits such as American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Kidney Foundation, Austin Hatcher Foundation, ALS Association, and Susan G Komen.
