Compliance Business Partner, Oncology Business Unit

The OBU Compliance Business Partner is responsible for driving AZ’s compliance program in one or more AZ oncology franchises. You will represent Global Compliance as a member of management teams, projects or other cross-functional collaborations. We also need you to strategically contribute to the direction of AZ’s compliance function and AZ’s broader objectives. Together with your colleagues, you'll cultivate a culture of ethics, integrity, inclusion and diversity while helping to craft AZ’s patient-centricity and digital priorities as we lean into the future. Major Responsibilities:
Provides compliance guidance and strategic input to ensure AstraZeneca’s business activities and supporting programs are driven and structured in a compliant manner in accordance with AstraZeneca policies.
Implements and maintains an effective compliance program by empowering OBU colleagues to solve critical business challenges and make sustainable choices that benefit people with cancer and our society at large.
Serves as primary contact for compliance matters to OBU employees from the assigned oncology franchises comprising of teams operating in the US and at Global level (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Commercial Operations).
Translates questions and issues into concrete improvements in policies and procedures to simplify ways of working, strengthen our compliance program and sustain an ethical culture in OBU.
Develops and delivers compliance objectives (aligned with Global Compliance strategy and objectives) to ensure an embedded and streamlined approach to governance and assurance.
Supports AZ’s risk framework and risk register, including effective mitigation of assigned compliance risks (e.g., inappropriate product promotion, data privacy, anti-bribery/anti-corruption or fraud)
Delivers on “second line of defense” accountabilities spanning all elements of AZ’s Compliance program, including business partnering, risk assessments, training, education, presentations, review of control measures, as well as supporting monitoring, auditing, investigations and reporting efforts.
Collaborates reliably with and serves as a trusted partner for colleagues from across AZ, including Senior Executive Team functions and AZ’s Enabling Units.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry
Knowledge of corporate governance, health care regulations, laws and standards
Demonstrated project management and problem-solving skills
Excellent analytical, written and oral communications skills
Proficient in digital literacy
Strong collaborative, partnering, and communication skills
Ability to work independently
High ethical standards, credible, operating with absolute discretion
Desirable Qualifications:
MBA, JD, or other advanced degree
Prior experience in compliance, legal, risk management, sales/marketing or regulatory functions at a large pharmaceutical company, or relevant US government agency experience
