    Position

    French American and International seeks an International Baccalaureate Program Manager to lead the implementation of the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) and facilitate coherence of the grade 6-10 academic experience and the IB program in our vibrant bilingual, international school.

    The International Baccalaureate Program Manager is a key leader in our Middle and High Schools, designing systems to support the International Baccalaureate program across all disciplines, promoting the professional learning of  IB faculty, and stewarding the MYP program for students in our bilingual, French, and English pathways.  The Manager will possess a thorough understanding of the Middle Years Program and, in partnership with the Middle and High School Principals and the Assistant Head of School for Teaching and Learning, will build systems to support its effective implementation in our school, including pedagogical leadership, program documentation, academic schedule, professional development, and family and faculty communications.  The IB Program Manager will  liaise with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to ensure IB program integrity and excellence and will collaborate with the Diploma Program Coordinator and other leadership to realize the power of the IB mission and Learner Profile in our school.

    Focus and Responsibilities

    • Serve as Middle Years Program Manager
    • Facilitate coherence of the student academic experience in grades 6 through 10
    • Liaise with the IB Diploma Program Coordinator and the Director of French Studies to ensure robust preparation for the baccalaureate years
    • Lead pedagogical conversations to fully implement the IB framework, and in particular the MYP, including Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, assessment, and collaborative planning
    • Collaborate with Heads of Department to shepherd the students’ day-to-day experience of the program
    • Provide curricular and pedagogical leadership in the Middle School, working to harmonize French and U.S. curricula and programs within the MYP approach
    • Collaborate with the Heads of Department and the IB Diploma Program Coordinator to create a smooth transition between the MYP and DP programs
    • Foster robust professional learning for all IB faculty and staff, including designing and delivering internal professional learning opportunities and identifying relevant external opportunities
    • Ensure compliance with IB professional development requirements and maintain professional development records related to the MYP program
    • Lead the MYP authorization process and subsequent school-wide IB evaluation cycles
    • Participate in the design and oversee implementation and maintenance of IB Program Development Plans across programs, including record-keeping and data collection
    • Coach and mentor faculty in the delivery of the IB program, including:
      • Development of concept-based units of inquiry 
      • Design and delivery of assessments and feedback tools aligned with the IB Program Standards and Practices and our school’s assessment policy
      • Authentic integration of ATL skills, the IB Learner Profile, and Service as Action into the student experience 
    • Facilitate horizontal and vertical collaborative planning
    • Support the induction of new faculty and staff into the MYP program
    • Collaborate with Principals and Heads of Department to develop academic schedules and staffing plans to support IB program implementation and delivery
    • Articulate and foster the synergy between the IB framework and the French national curriculum and educational principles as defined in the socle commun 
    • Collaborate with other pedagogical leaders to ensure robust curriculum review and iteration in the IB program and international track 
    • Support the Community and Personal Project Coordinators and ensure effective integration of those components into the student experience
    • Communicate the principles and value of the IB to families and caregivers as well as the wider community and support the admissions process for prospective students and families
    • Lead the analysis of data related to the student experience and educational outcomes in the Middle and High Schools and foster data-driven decision-making
    • Maintain necessary documentation of the MYP program and student outcomes
    • Participate actively in the Academic Council, section faculty meetings, and additional venues 
    • Model the school’s Mission, Values, and Commitment to Equity and participate actively in the life of the school
    • Additional duties as assigned 

     

    Support and Compensation

    • This position is a full-time, year-round administrative role with some teaching responsibilities as determined (not to exceed 50%) which reports to the Assistant Head of School for Teaching and Learning and liaises closely with the Middle and High School Principals
    • The Manager is guided and supported by the Middle and High School Principals and the Assistant Head of School for Teaching and Learning, under the leadership of the Head of School

     

    Qualifications

    • A deep understanding of the MYP and IB programs
    • Demonstrated experience as a pedagogical leader and in supporting faculty growth
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Strong communication skills with colleagues, students and families/caregivers, external organizations, and the wider public
    • Commitment to our school mission and values and the development of intercultural competence and global citizenship in our multilingual, international community
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, Master’s or other advanced degree preferred
    • The ability to work in a multicultural context necessary; proficiency in French is useful but not required
    • Must be able to work legally in the U.S.

     

    Salary Range for this position: $100,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
