International Trade Specialist is responsible for coordinating credit and financial activities and obtaining payments for import/export operations. Acts as an advisor on matters of tariffs, markets, and federal and foreign regulations. Being an International Trade Specialist ensures that all filings, documents, and regulatory reporting are completed accurately, in a timely manner, and according to trade laws. Keeps informed of international events and changes to laws and requirements that may impact operations. Additionally, International Trade Specialist may negotiate letters of credit or handle issues with international banks. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The International Trade Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Essential Duties
1. Work with suppliers, ocean carriers, freight forwarders, and import brokers to secure and coordinate all international documents.
2. Assurance of import and export regulatory compliance.
3. Ensure timely movement of cargo across supply chain.

10% * Ensure ISF and AES filing is conducted timely
10% * Coordinate overseas 3rd party inspections and ensure receipt of survey reports
10% * Monitor and ensure shipment execution and movement
10% * Support and work with internal departments to ensure documentation review and compliance
10% * Communicate buyer and sales teams of shipment status
10% * Work with freight carriers and vessel operations team to resolve disputes
10% * Monitor and troubleshoot inbound container release with ocean carrier and US Customs
5% * Coordinate container drayage to regional North American warehouses

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Min. 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, vendors, and the general public. Ability to write effective communication in various mediums using original or innovative techniques or style.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, exchange rates, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Computer Skills
Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Working Conditions:
