International Trade Specialist is responsible for coordinating credit and financial activities and obtaining payments for import/export operations. Additionally, International Trade Specialist may negotiate letters of credit or handle issues with international banks. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The International Trade Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Summary of Objective:

    The primary functions of this position are perform all tasks related to the exportation of shipments from the US to various international destinations, including, but not limited to, the shipping paperwork, the courier booking, and coordination with the project management teams. Additionally, they will perform paperwork review and preparation for the clearance filing of import shipments into North American facilities, review and approve IRT specifications, and assist with Global Depot Network strategy planning and setup.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

    • Management of the Priority Shipping log and facilitation of daily cross functional meetings to ensure proper shipment set-up and dispatch.
    • Ensure that all necessary paperwork related to the shipment request has been included with the order sent to the floor for proper pick and pack of the materials.
    • Creation of commercial invoice templates and prepare shipment specific or proforma (if applicable) versions for specific shipments or import licensing purposes.
    • Liaise with internal and external customers to ensure correct information contained in the request to adequately process the shipment.
    • Follow-up on delivery confirmation of shipments via the selected courier. Prepare monthly shipping reports and metrics as requested.
    • Initiate/Facilitate communication between the distribution project manager and the warehouse, when required to solve issues and/or ensure expedited processing of international or priority shipments.
    • Prepare monthly shipping reports and metrics as requested.
    • Understand the current Courier Selection Strategy and schedule pick-up of international shipments with the properly selected courier, or with a customer designated courier.
    • Liaise with external personnel to obtain authorization for dispatch and confirmation of import permission.
    • Assist with the preparation of monthly customer billing and invoicing Understand IRT integration between vendor platforms and JDE, and be able to identify and correct issues with inbound data files.
    • Understand PCI's Global Depot Network strategy, and be able to assist. Quotation Development with determination of study specific strategies.
    • Assist Distribution Project Management with the setup of necessary Global Depots.
    • Be able to provide designated customs brokers with required information necessary for entry filing on import shipments to PCI's North America locations, including, but not limited to, HTS Codes, FDA Product Codes, CBP designations, and USDA licensing Support Trade Compliance team workload across multiple PCI locations
    • This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.
    • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.
    • Attendance to work is an essential function of this position
    • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

      • Associate's Degree in a related field and/or 1-3 years related experience and/or training.
      • Basic Mathematical Skills

      • Minimum Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak in a way that allows one to participate effectively in various conversations. Ability to read various types of standard items addressed to general readers.
      • Intermediate Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions that may be furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems that involve several concrete variables in standardized situations.
