    Job Summary: E.P. Gerber & Sons’ financial record-keepers. This person will compute, classify, record, and verify numerical data, to develop and maintain financial records, as well as oversee all aspects of financial transactions. They record debits and credits, compare current and past balance sheets, summarize details of separate ledgers, and prepare reports for supervisors. They also prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to the bank. This position exists to help meet the corporate goals of the finance department. This position assists the Accounting & HR Manager in monitoring and providing accurate financial information.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Accounts Payable: post invoices, process checks, statement processing, add new vendor accounts
    Accounts Receivable: process checks, reconcile cash drawer discrepancies, post payments, send past due letters, credit inquiry letters, add new customer accounts, month-end statements
    Payroll: run accumulation report, check employee hours, vacation times, and discrepancies
    Miscellaneous: purchase office supplies, handle petty cash/pop money, deposit cash from the day-end update, and document imaging.
    Any other duties or responsibilities that management assigns

    Credentials, Education, and Experience:
    High school diploma or equivalent.
    Ability to perform basic arithmetic skills quickly and accurately
    Must be computer-literate. Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software is especially valuable, as are experience working in an office and good interpersonal skills.
    Courses in typing, word processing, business communications, records management, and office systems and procedures are helpful.

    Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
    Strong computer background
    Ability to understand financial statements showing debits and credits, account balances, etc.
    Workers must be highly organized, careful, orderly, and detail-oriented to avoid making errors and in order to recognize errors made by others.
    Workers should also be discreet and trustworthy because they often meet confidential material. Additionally, they should have a strong aptitude for numbers.

    Physical Demands:
    Light physical demands. Work does not require heavy lifting, but the worker may have to spend lengthy periods of time on their feet and frequently lift, carry, climb stairs, stoop, bend, reach, etc.
    Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time. May spend a significant amount of time typing, particularly at a video display terminal, may encounter problems of eyestrain, stress, and repetitive motion.

    Environment and Physical Working Conditions:
    Typically work indoors in a well-lighted, air-conditioned/heated office environment.
    Work daily with office equipment such as phones, fax machines, copiers, computers, printers, etc.
