General Summary
The IRA manager role requires an advanced level of knowledge and understanding of banking concepts, rules, and regulations. The role carries the responsibility for transfer, distributions, rollovers, conversations, death claims, and closures in accordance with government regulations and Credit Union policies. The IRA Manager must maintain accurate and complete retirement records, perform annual account reviews, and ensure all regulatory reporting requirements are met. The IRA Manager has strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond quickly and accurately to internal and external members.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in banking, specifically in bank operations and 5 years of experience interpreting, processing, or administering IRAs. Certified IRA Specialist or other IRA certification preferred.
Skills: Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills - (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and the ability to operate standard office equipment. Research analysis and problem-solving skills. Organizational skills and detail oriented. Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
Communication: Establishes and maintains effective communication with stakeholders using various forms of communication (verbal, written, presentation).
Action Oriented: Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
Member Focus: Uses active listening skills to gain understanding of the needs of others to build strong relationships (internal/external) and deliver member focused service.
Supervisory: 2 years of managerial or progressively responsible experience.
