  • Job Overview:
    We are seeking a skilled Irrigation Technician to join our team. As an Irrigation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties. This is a hands-on role that requires knowledge of landscape maintenance, gardening, and irrigation systems.

    Characteristics Needed to Succeed

    • Valid driver's license and ability to be added to company's insurance policy
    • Knowledge and experience with landscaping equipment and tools, meeting operational safety and quality standards; or, ability to quickly learn and follow expectations.
    • Achieves any department required certification within 90 days of placement, i.e. backflow certification.
    • Preferred knowledge of the occupational safety hazards and necessary safety precautions and regulations.
    • Ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team.
    • Ability to work outside regular business hours as needed.

    • Lift and carry weights ranging from 0 to 25 pounds with frequency
    • Occasional lifting and carrying weights ranging from 26 to 60 pounds
    • Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping
    • Frequent standing and walking
    • Occasional operation of equipment
    • Occasional sitting, climbing and reaching above shoulder height
    • Frequent repetitive hand movements/grasping
    • Good vision, corrected to normal
    • Good hearing, corrected to normal; or ability to communicate/understand required information and to perform job duties
    • Ability to be mobile throughout required work areas

    Duties:
    - Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties
    - Inspect and troubleshoot irrigation systems to identify issues and make necessary repairs
    - Adjust sprinkler heads to ensure proper coverage and distribution of water
    - Program irrigation controllers to optimize watering schedules
    - Monitor water usage and make recommendations for water conservation
    - Dig trenches and install pipes, valves, and other irrigation components
    - Collaborate with landscaping team to ensure proper placement of irrigation systems
    - Operate hand tools and power tools to complete tasks efficiently
    - Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions

    Experience:
    - Previous experience in landscape maintenance or irrigation system installation/repair is preferred
    - Knowledge of mechanical systems related to irrigation, including pumps, valves, and timers
    - Ability to read blueprints or diagrams to understand irrigation system layouts
    - Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in landscaping and irrigation work
    - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
    - Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
    - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues independently

    Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be expected to work primarily outside in all types of weather conditions; conditions include occasional extreme heat and cold weather exposures due to natural climate. Occasional office time will be needed. The noise level in each work environment will vary and could sporadically be loud.
