The IT Asset Manager is responsible for the daily and long-term strategic and operational management of software and technology-related hardware for the company. This encompasses planning, monitoring, and recording software license and hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts in various software tools. The individual will employ a continuous improvement approach to optimize the strategies used for technology spending in the company and the related tracking of company assets across their lifecycles. This role is also responsible for the procurement of hardware and software for the company as well as managing vendor relationships. This role has supervisory responsibility over a small staff of analysts and will also provide standardized reporting, KPI/Metric information on a scheduled basis along with ad hoc reporting as requested by management.
Manage Software Assets
Establish and lead the implementation of a software asset management program, including monitoring and tracking software licenses, compliance, audits, and optimization of software usage.
Manage IT Hardware Assets
Oversee the acquisition, deployment, and maintenance of IT hardware assets such as computers, servers, network devices, and peripherals.
Vendor Management
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts, ensure service level agreements are met, and maintain effective communication for asset procurement and maintenance.
Process Improvement
Identify and implement best practices for asset management processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
Reporting and Analysis
Generate regular reports on asset utilization, performance, and compliance. Analyze data to make informed decisions regarding asset lifecycle management and resource allocation.
Team Management
Lead and manage a team of asset management professionals, providing guidance and support for inventory management, asset tracking, and procurement processes.
