IT Capacity Planner evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • Genesis10 is currently seeking an IT Security Specialist with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12 month contract position.

    Responsibilities:

    • Risk and Regulatory Management, Information Security Generalist Skills, Information Security Management
    • Manage mid-range systems and infrastructure
    • Communicate and provide capacity executive summaries to our partners and stakeholders
    • Provide data analytics and capacity forecast models
    • Understand hardware Infrastructure, architecture and disaster recovery
    • IT Service Management (ITSM)
    • Advise on system and application performance improvements with other partners and stakeholders
    • Participate in multiple projects and have a specific set of deliverables around Performance and Capacity
    • Review technical project documentation in an effort to identify performance and capacity impacts to the infrastructure
    • Provide support and consulting for the project(s) in question
    • Work with other support teams to collectively provide forecasts and models for performance and capacity of impacted components
    • Review saturation test results and artifacts (e.g., AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, SAR/vmstat, application logs and Performance Center results) to measure and interpret capacity thresholds/limits
    • Support capacity related BAU activities associated to audit requirement
    • Foster a culture of support and knowledge sharing

    Requirements:

    • 3 years of IT Capacity Management
    • ITSM
    • AppDynamics/Dynatrace
    • Splunk
    • Operating System Performance Measurement Tools (SAR/PerfMon)
    • True Sight Capacity Optimizer
    • Agile Framework - Jira/Confluence
    • Demonstrated knowledge of capacity planning methodologies
    • Demonstrated knowledge of mathematical/statistical and quantitative analytics
    • Demonstrated knowledge of ITIL capacity management best practices COBIT framework
    • Infrastructure architecture

    Desired skills:

    • Understanding of Agile methodologies, Splunk data mining expertise, and demand data/BVI concepts

    Pay Range: $67.36 - $75.36
