Basic Job Responsibilities:

The Freight Planner is responsible for monitoring freight on hand and outstanding orders to maximize truck loads an minimize wasted space. The Freight Planner will be responsible for coordinating delivery schedules.

Major Responsibilities:

• Create outbound shipping plans to meet customer demand.
• As finished goods are received from manufacturing , projects shipments of finished units.
• Coordinate with carriers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Handle freight claims with carriers.
• Identify and select the best mode of transportation to reduce costs.
• Maintains reports on scheduling, freight, backlogs and other reports as required.
• Any other related duties requested from management.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years of experience in freight
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP, SPS Commerce EDI platform or experience with similar platforms
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• Excellent data entry skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
