The New York State Network for Youth Success (the Network) is a statewide organization dedicated to strengthening the capacity and commitment of communities, programs, and professionals to increase access to high-quality programs and services beyond the traditional classroom. For nearly three decades, the Network has served a critical role to advance equitable expanded learning ecosystems throughout New York state. We work to ensure high-quality afterschool and summer programs are available so all of New York’s youth—and especially youth from low-income families, youth of color, and youth of other marginalized identities—can have the opportunities they deserve to thrive. The Network is dedicated to building responsive community systems to support quality afterschool, youth development, and summer programs for New York’s youth.
Position Description
The Network for Youth Success’ Capacity Building Coordinator priorities include: managing the NYS SAC Credential distance learning (asynchronous) course, providing support for the NYS SAC Credential infrastructure, and creation of Network communications.
The purpose of the Capacity Building Coordinator position is to support the capacity building team.
The primary responsibilities include creating and disseminating Network communications and supporting the capacity building team.
General Responsibilities
- Provides onboarding training and development for new employees.
- Creates and disseminates marketing materials to promote organizational initiatives.
- Prepares grant reports to fulfill reporting requirements for funders.
- Manages project timelines and prioritizes tasks to ensure successful project completion.
- Implements programs and services that advance the nonprofit's mission.
- Conducts data entry tasks to maintain accurate records.
- Organizes and maintains files for easy retrieval and access.
- Promotes justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion within the organization and its programs.
- Cultivates a positive work environment for staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
- Provides support for projects and events to ensure successful outcomes.
- Provides input on the department specific portion of the Network’s three-year strategic plan.
- Adapts as needed including covering for colleagues during their absence as required.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Position Specific Responsibilities
- Assists with communication to SAC (School-Age Care) candidates, including updates on course hours, deadline reminders, payments, etc.
- Responds to phone calls and email questions regarding basic SAC information.
- Reviews SAC endorsement, renewal, and advisor packets as needed.
- Creates enrollment letters upon request for SAC Candidates.
- Creates progress letters upon request for SAC Candidates.
- Fields phone calls with licensors/registrars regarding SAC enrollment.
- Assists with invoicing, Stripe checks, PayPal checks.
- Takes notes and distributes after meetings.
- Assists with uploading information into Google Classroom for Asynchronous courses and SAC Learning Communities.
- Assists with data entry in Aspire, PDP, and Salesforce systems.
- Monitors Slack and Github for updates on data projects.
- Assists with the advisor approval process including reviewing study guides and applications, communicating needs with advisors, assigning mentors, and reviewing paperwork.
- Assist with reviewing host agency paperwork.
- Creation of forms and reports in Salesforce to track SAC Credential, Membership, and Accreditation.
- Ensure EIP documents for SAC Credential, Health and Safety, Site Leader Institute and other training and folders are complete and up-to-date.
- Serves as a moderator for the NYS SAC Credential Virtual Courses and SAC PLC’s.
- Proofreads emails, brochures, and other materials as needed.
- Assists with scheduling endorsement visits.
- Assists with creation of videos, including closed captioning, for marketing, training, and internal purposes.
- Assist with endorsement visit files, including ensure all paperwork is available and recordings are deleted in a timely fashion.
- Assist with updating and filing contracts and other materials.
- Schedules out listserv communications for the capacity building and leadership team using Mailchimp.
- Creates and disseminates the monthly membership grant newsletter.
- Creates and disseminates the monthly EAP newsletter.
- Creates and disseminates professional development emails upon request.
- Assists with dissemination of conference communications.
- Creates and disseminates timely emails upon request (ie: PDP information, OCFS updates, etc.)
- Creates and disseminates the bimonthly e-news.
- Develops content for the Network’s Facebook and Instagram pages and ensures daily posts.
- Posts to LinkedIn page as needed.
- Assists with posting to the SAC Credential Professionals Facebook group.
- Assists with review of Afterschool Pathfinder.
- Responds to comments and messages on the Network’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
- Updates the Network’s website, including adding items to the event page, advisor listings, organizational members, and SAC Credential candidate listings.
- Archives e-news on a monthly basis.
- Supports the capacity building team with all aspects of the annual conference including marketing, sponsorship, set-up, and training.
- Serve as a moderator for Network hosted virtual trainings, meetings, and events.
- Directly supports the CRELO regional network.
- Offers support as needed to all regional networks.
- Addresses racism, sexism, heterosexism, and other discriminatory practices.
- Works toward racial equity through undoing institutional and structural racism, including active participation in organizational learning.
- Exhibits knowledge of equity and social justice principles and practices.
- Demonstrates personal commitment to racial justice, equity, and supporting leaders dedicated to positive social change.
- Creates inclusive learning spaces both internally and in client-facing work.

Salary and Benefits
This is a part-time position. Part-time employment with the Network receives prorated time off for mental health days throughout the year, as well as prorated sabbatical leave. Network employees have the opportunity to be flexible with their schedules, work remotely as needed, and ask for other support in creating an approach to work-life balance that meets their needs.
Base salary range $17.45 hourly. Salary commensurate on experience.
Location
This position, in consultation with the immediate supervisor, may be hybrid, remote, or at the Network offices in Troy, NY.
Travel
Occasional work in the evening, and travel, including overnight or weekend travel, may be required.
