Position Title: IT Manager
Location: Green River, WY
Key Responsibilities/Activities:
- Lead and manage a team of system engineers in achieving departmental goals, managing priorities, delegating tasks, and providing coaching and guidance to team members.
- Conduct regular team meetings to provide updates, review progress, and address any concerns or issues that arise
- Manage the team's workload, including prioritizing tasks and ensuring deadlines are met
- Enhance and maintain existing policies, standards, procedures, and checklists to meet changing business landscape and challenges for both IT and OT Systems
- Assist in managing the infrastructure support team queue
- Oversee the corrective actions from regulatory, internal audit, and self-identified findings and infrastructure control weaknesses
- Manage staffing needs, including recruitment, selection, and retention of staff
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental strategies and initiatives
- Ensure that the team is staying up to date with the latest technology trends and best practices
- Develop, document, implement, standardize, maintain, upgrade, and decommission systems, virtualization, peripherals, services, configuration, storage, networking, telephony, etc. in accordance with the needs of the business
- Provide support for infrastructure and applications critical to operational requirements
- Research and recommend innovations and automation for system administration tasks
- Identify approaches that leverage existing resources and provide economies of scale
- Collaborate with business units to deploy, upgrade, migrate, and maintain systems based on best practices and operational efficiencies
- Perform daily system monitoring and remediation, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server and network resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
- Developing monitoring baselines and procedures to improve efficiencies of the environment
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify possible intrusions or security vulnerabilities
- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all data and systems are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
- Maintain and improve compliance with standards for security and audit and develop procedures for improving compliance
- Provide Tier III / Technical support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
- Maintain lifecycle of systems and applications from implementation to decommission.
- Participate in support and on call rotation
- Manage patching and upgrades for OS, firmware, tools, utilities, and drivers on a regular basis
- Configure / add new services as necessary
- Upgrade and configure system software that support applications per project or operational needs
- Document and maintain operational, configuration, and other procedures
- Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
- Maintain data center environmental, monitoring, fire suppression and uninterruptible power systems.
- Monitor IT performance and make recommendations for improvements in areas such as system availability, reliability, and scalability.
Skill, Capability, and Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
- Hands-on experience managing Active Directory, cloud applications, Linux/Unix, VMware, System Center suite, networking, and Windows server
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Self-starter with critical thinking skills. Ability to problem solve and communicate findings to colleagues and management
- Experience as an IT Manager or similar role, preferred.
Final determination on pay and grade will be made by HR and company leadership consistent with the skills matrix and considering the candidates education, experience, past performance, demonstrated leadership and influence.
