Description

Saratoga Schenectady Gastroenterology Associates is seeking an IT Operations & Support Specialist to join our IT Team to support hardware, software, and processes. The Specialist will assist with answering staff inquiries and tickets and support IT and business projects. He/she will act as the backup for support at our surgical center and will become fluent in their processes and systems. He/she will be responsible for learning backend operations including server hardware and software, IT automation processes, and network layout and equipment. The Specialist will create and update documentation as needed to respond to service issues. Other tasks will be defined based on the needs of the business.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

• Become fluent in all business hardware, software, and processes
• Maintain and create documentation for IT systems and processes
• Assist other IT staff as needed
• Act as IT Director’s backup for systems and processes
• Create and drive a culture of exceptional customer experience in IT
• Be a team player assisting with staff requests and issues
• Open communication with vendors for problem resolution
• Contribute to IT-wide project efforts
• Develop key performance indicators and perform continuous process improvement.
• Maintain exceptional communications with the organization’s leadership and staff.
• Ability to research and troubleshoot IT issues and products, and present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
• Adheres to safety standards, policies, and procedures.
• Accepts responsibility for the continuous improvement of work place safety by reporting and resolving unsafe conditions as appropriate.
• Conducts service and business activities with a high standard of ethical behavior which reflects the organization’s mission and values.
• Provides after hours and weekend support as needed
• Complete other tasks deemed necessary by IT Director or Leadership

Requirements

• Candidates must have 3 years of supporting business systems and staff
• Candidates must have 2 years of Windows Server, virtualization, and networking experience
• Programming and SQL experience is a plus
• Healthcare experience is a plus, but not necessary
• Must have a strong understanding of current technology and the ability to learn new and modern technologies quickly
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service, attention to detail, and interpersonal and critical thinking skills required
• Expert proficiency in all Microsoft Office products required
• A self-starter who demonstrates ownership and commitment to the job
• Ability to quickly learn new software applications as the need arises
• Display a sense of urgency, flexibility and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Must be flexible to work over 40 hours per week, travel on occasion, accept tasks outside of normal job duties, and be open to assume new responsibilities if the needs of the department change
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task
• Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
