Procurement Manager opportunity in
Eunice, NM at
Urenco USA (UUSA) National Enrichment Facility.
Work Location: On-Site at Urenco
Per diem is available for those who qualify.
UUSA, operated by Louisiana Energy Services LLC, is the only commercial enrichment facility operating in the US, and is located in Eunice, New Mexico.
Summary of Responsibilities
This role manages the supply management formation and directs, plans, coordinates and oversees the activities of a team of procurement and materials professionals. It directs and supervises clerical, technical and administrative activities of general and/or specialized procurement and materials programs and performs related work as required. The Procurement Manager oversees negotiations and agreements with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services, along with receipt, storage and distribution functions.
Education and Experience
- The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related work experience, with at least 3 of those years being in a leadership role.
- A Master’s degree and 10 years of related work experience, with at least 3 of those years being in a leadership role, are preferred.
The following skills are preferred:
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communications skills are essential.
- Purchasing experience in a mid-sized to large organization with a preference for experience in the commercial nuclear power industry is a plus.
- Experience with SAP and/or other procurement information management systems is a plus.
- Certified Purchasing Manager Certification, (CPM), a Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) or a Chartered Institute of Procurement Management & Supply Chain Certification (CIPS) are preferred.
Primary Functions
- Engage with key stakeholders to gain support and approval of category plans.
- Understand the customer’s business and / or position and seeks to find ways of meeting their needs through negotiation and discussion.
- Engage with key stakeholders to gain support and approval of category plans.
- Collect feedback from customers and stakeholders.
- Ensure adoption of a standardized procurement approach.
- Ensure supplier visits and evaluation of potential and existing service providers takes place at appropriate frequency and effective, professional relationships are developed.
- Ensure staff is available to execute plans and projects.
- Advise and lead on bid evaluation in support of supplier selection.
- Deliver projects in accordance within program & budget.
- Continually seek ways to improve the contract values.
- Ensure company resources are utilized appropriately within ethical and legal standards.
- Empowers others through delegation, assignment, and mentoring, giving room and space to develop and come up with new ideas.
- Provides feedback and coaching to process learning and enhance development.
- Develop and maintain procurement team scorecards to monitor and report progress against local and global initiatives and objectives.
Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
Travel Required: 30% of the time or less as required.
Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required.
Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc.
