IT SPECIALIST (SYSANLYSIS/CUSTSPT)

  • Duties

    • You will design computer application systems using industry standard programming languages (e.g., Visual Basic, JAVA, or similar programming languages).
    • You will manage the administration of systems engineering to ensure that applications are optimized for functionality.
    • You will complete information technology (IT) trouble-tickets or break-fix tasks to meet customer service support requirements.
    • You will be responsible for supporting the Aviation Product Lifecycle Management (AvPLM) system with continuous improvement activities and sustainment actions.
    • You will be responsible for sustaining capabilities and functionality that span O/I/D in a holistic, integrated approach that leverages Commercial-of the-Shelf (COTS) software and industry best practices to agile development.
    • You will provide leadership for workforce automation, optimization, and process standardization for program lifecycle management; integrate acquisition with the warfighter.

    • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area IT level 02 within 6 months of appointment.
    • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
    • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
    • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field L- Life Cycle Logistics (LCL) Level 1-Foundational. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
    • Enterprise system i.e., Siemens Team Center experience preferred.

    Qualifications

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Lead specialist automation projects which focus on the (e.g. solution of the most complex system problems and logistics program requirements as well as encompassing new and emerging technologies or complicated fielding requirements. 2) Define scope, interface requirements, policy issues, and performance criteria. 3) Coordinate the information and system requirements, priorities, and milestones with appropriate personnel both internal and external to the activity. 4) Provide functional direction and guidance to employees of other project teams, describe work to be performed and coordinate accomplishments. 5)Make recommendations on database and output product design and determines if changes/ enhancements are required.
