The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position works within the Administrative Services Division of the Department of Administration, located in Carson City. This opening is for a Management Analyst 2 underfilling a Management Analyst 3. The incumbent acts as the budget advisor for their assigned budget accounts. Clients are primarily Department of Administration agencies, elected officials, and other small state entities that do not have their own fiscal staff. The incumbent provides expertise and fiscal guidance to agencies. They perform budget analysis, budget oversight, prepare budget projections, assist agencies with strategic planning, develop biennial budgets including input and revision to the Nevada Executive Budget System (NEBS), and manage budgets throughout the biennium. Additionally, they may complete federal grant reports and quarterly draws according to federal guidelines, and complete year end Single Audit Reporting Forms (SARF) within assigned timeframes. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
