We are seeking a skilled and experienced Jeweler/Stone-setter to join our team. As a Jeweler, you will be responsible for crafting and repairing jewelry pieces using various tools and techniques of the trade. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, strong work ethic, excellent hand-eye coordination, and a passion for working on high-end jewelry. The primary responsibility will be the training of novices and apprentices, following pre-set guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct and train aspiring young adults in an educational setting
- Repair damaged jewelry by soldering, polishing, and setting stones
- Resize rings, bracelets, and necklaces to fit customers
- Proficient in basic fabrication techniques in Silver, Gold, and Platinum
- Proficient in all stone-setting techniques
- Wax carving experience a plus but not necessary
- CAD experience a plus but not necessary
- Inspect jewelry for quality control and ensure it meets industry standards
- Collaborate with clients to understand their design preferences and provide expert advice
- Keep accurate records of inventory, repairs, and custom orders
- Stay updated on industry trends and new techniques in jewelry making
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Jeweler and stone-setter
- Proficient in using jewelry-making tools such as pliers, saws, files, and soldering and lasering equipment
- Strong knowledge of different types of metals, gemstones, and settings
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication skills to interact with clients and apprentices effectively
Skills:
- Hability to comply with and to follow guidelines developed for training purposes
- Classroom/workshop management: Ability to maintain discipline and order in an instructional and professional setting.
