Job Developer supports social services clients in job searching and placement. Establishes and maintains working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for clients. Being a Job Developer evaluates individual's background, skills, and interest and matches to potential job openings or training programs. Coaches and prepares candidate for interview and entry into the workforce. Additionally, Job Developer may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Job Developer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Position Summary:
The Job Developer for the Washington, DC Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Workforce Development program will develop and maintain ongoing professional contacts with private, public, nonprofit, and religious/academic organizations to promote and create opportunities for placing Customers (TANF recipients referred to Fedcap by the District of Columbia's Department of Human Services), explain the financial benefits an employer will receive when hiring or placing a TANF Customer, as well as outline the additional employment supports and retention services after placement. Job Developers are responsible to match available jobs with Customer interests and abilities to achieve a sufficient number of job placements monthly.
Two separate programs comprise our Workforce Development contract with the District of Columbia's Department of Human Services (DHS); Job Placement's primary focus is Customer placement into unsubsidized employment; and Education and Occupational Training's primary focus is to enhance a customer's skill level through education and training in order to be referred to a Job Placement program after receiving credentials. Education and Occupational Training (EOT): Case management supports, barrier removal, development and monitoring of training programs, possible on-site training with industry recognized credentials. Outreach and non-compliance support services.
Job Placement (JP): Case management supports, barrier removal, job readiness training, job development services, services to assist with career advancement, retention services. Outreach and non-compliance support services.
