    Description

    While receiving leadership support from the mission leadership team, the Employment Placement Specialist advances our mission by managing the intake, creation, and oversight of skill-building and employment plans to ensure services are consistently delivered following best practices and funding source requirements. The Employment Placement Specialist creates their impact and celebrates the possible through job coaching, skills instruction/training, job placement, and referrals within Goodwill NCW and to community partners. The Employment Placement Specialist will align service delivery with the mission, vision, values, and brand of Goodwill NCW.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manages intake, creation, and oversight of participant skill-building and employment plans to ensure individualized services are consistently delivered following best practices and funding source requirements.
    • Assists participants in identifying skill-building and employment goals. Implements goal plans to help them obtain, maintain, and elevate employment.
    • Provides guidance to and assists participants in the areas of career exploration, job search, employment applications, resumes, interview preparation, and job skills.
    • Works with participants with varying abilities in various settings and trains on the job skills. Adjusts approach based on participant needs. Orients participants at new employment site.
    • Tracks and manages individuals’ progress towards independence, which may include managing services such as job coaching.
    • Identifies participant’s strengths, interests, and needs to determine the most suitable training methods and serves as an advocate for participants. Creates job aids to empower participants to reach individualized goals and become placed in a job.
    • Communicates with all those involved to ensure skills instruction support meets the specific needs of each participant and discusses any urgent concerns, changes in job duties or employer/participant feedback that requires immediate attention.
    • Identifies appropriate group and individual training and professional development opportunities. Provides skills teaching to individuals and cohorts.
    • Completes accurate and timely documentation and data entry for participant files according to funding sources, Goodwill NCW, and CARF requirements.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with funding sources and submits accurate and timely reports according to the contract requirements of each funding source. Participates in accrediting, licensing, and funding audit meetings, as needed.
    • Maintains partnerships in the community which may include employers, non-profits, and school districts to assist individuals in developing work skills and employment opportunities to reach their full potential.
    • Monitors purchase orders weekly for each service provided and requests new purchase orders from funding sources as needed.

    Qualifications


    Education, Skills & Experience Requirements

    • Associate degree in human services or related field, but applicable work experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
    • At least five years of experience in a similar field is preferred.
    • Previous case management/coaching experience is preferred. Knowledge and experience with Case Management Systems (CMS) is preferred.
    • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required to travel to multiple locations.
    • At least an intermediate level of competency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent time management and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under time constraints.
    • Strong skills in collaboration and connection to community.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to adjust to the changing needs of the department and organization and willingness to jump in and help where needed.
    • Ability to present, speak to and promote Goodwill NCW mission, vision and align to communities served.
