Job Developer supports social services clients in job searching and placement. Establishes and maintains working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for clients. Being a Job Developer evaluates individual's background, skills, and interest and matches to potential job openings or training programs. Coaches and prepares candidate for interview and entry into the workforce. Additionally, Job Developer may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Job Developer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • Harbor is looking for a Job Developer to add to our Toledo Team. The Job Developer provides job development services to clients linked with funding sources (i.e.,), such as contacting employers and actively developing job opportunities for clients. 

    Position is full-time

    Education/Experience/Other Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business preferred, plus 1 year sales/marketing experience.  In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, may substitute Associate’s degree plus 1 year vocational rehabilitation experience (i.e., job development); or 3 years successful sales, marketing, or job recruitment experience.
    • Proven success in sales and in establishing business to business relationships; familiarity with OOD and BWC guidelines preferred.
    • Must be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Word.
    • CPR/First Aid Certification required.
    • Must have valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and be deemed insurable through Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier.
    • Must successfully complete a BCI/FBI background check(s) and six exclusionary database checks every 5 years, as required by OOD.

    Essential Job Competencies/Primary Duties:

    1. Types documentation in the format appropriate and acceptable to Harbor.
    2. Responsible for accurate and timely documentation which includes, but is not limited to: progress notes, Incident Report forms, Service Plans, and any other necessary documentation for job development services.
    3. Markets Harbor services and ability to meet employer needs through proper job matches.
    4. Develops relationships with local employers to identify needs and assist in filling vacancies.
    5. Educate employers on providing responsible accommodations in accordance with ADA.
    6. Provides good employee/employer matches through job analysis and employee interest.
    7. Provides excellent customer service to funding and referral sources by being responsive to inquiries regarding services, client progress, etc.
    8. Provides job development, job seeking skills training, and follow along services.
    9. Assists clients in developing a resume, completing job applications, interviews skills, and other activities related to obtaining employment.
    10. May provide job coaching services as applicable.
