Pivot comes alongside these organizations to help them grow and thrive by assisting them in defining and living out their brands, telling their unique stories, and strengthening relationships with their customers. Pivot has four practice areas, including broadband marketing, broadband CX, broadband vendors, and nonprofits.



    Job Summary
    Telecompetitor is a leading online publication of Pivot, for the broadband industry, offering daily coverage of important trends and developments. This role ensures the editorial content of Telecompetitor meet the high standards of its readership and audience with timely, relevant, and interesting content.

    This position is responsible for reporting on the broadband provider industry, as well as editing material written by others for the Telecompetitor news website. This person also will write white papers and other material to support clients.


    Responsibilities
    • Responsible for researching and writing articles and content that resonates with the Telecompetitor audience and the broadband industry
    • Responsible for writing compelling white papers and other material to support Telecompetitor clients
    • Provide publication content ideas that could be used as articles and/or client supported deliverables
    • Stay current on industry trends and topics
    • Analyzing data to craft a story for potential articles
    • Write and contribute articles for Telecompetitor
    • Research, find, and assign topics for contributing writers
    • Edit and proof contributed articles before publishing
    • Review and edit Telecompetitor Newsletter
    • Potential opportunity to moderate virtual webinars and events
    • Conduct interviews for Telecompetitor content
    • Serve as a backup to the Managing Editor for supervision of daily content for the site and newsletter
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  
    • Expertise in Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Google Docs and Google Sheets)
    • Experience with WordPress or other CMS. Understanding of HTML formatting
    • Ability to coordinate, prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Goal-oriented, collaborator with excellent organizational skills
    • Detail-oriented
    • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing deadlines
    • Excellent writing and editing skills

    Minimum Education and Experience  
    • B.A. or B.S. in Journalism or Communications or equivalent experience
    • 2-3 plus years’ experience with writing for a publication (online preferred)
    • 2-3 plus years’ experience in editorial content for a publication or equivalent
    • 2-3 plus years’ experience covering the Telecom/Broadband Industry (preferred but not required)

    Physical Demands
    • Work is typically performed in a remote office setting
    • Occasionally travel may be required (up to 20%)
