    BLN24 is looking for a Research Journalist to join our team.
    We are seeking an experienced Research Journalist who specializes in providing insightful market commentary, covering various financial topics, and producing technical content such as white papers, studies, and research summaries. This role can be on a contract or pay-per-piece basis, ideal for individuals who excel in analyzing and simplifying complex financial information for diverse audiences.
    Responsibilities:
     
    • Produce technical documents, including white papers, research summaries, and case studies, that demonstrate thought leadership and industry expertise.
    • Review and edit outgoing policy-level material prepared for the signature, action, or information of the Secretary or Deputy secretary of the Department, assuring compliance with Administration and Departmental policies and guidelines, as well as assuring high editorial standards.
    • This includes, but is not limited to, studies, reviews, advisements, and regulations concerning Departmental and/or Executive Secretariat responsibilities.
    • Develop and revise written products that articulate, interpret, and explain often complex, potentially controversial, and important HUD programs, guidelines, regulations, policies, and laws.
    • Analyze and interpret financial data and trends to create compelling narratives and actionable insights for readers.
    • Conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy and relevance of content.
    • Maintain a consistent voice and adhere to editorial standards while being able to adjust tone and style for different target audiences.
    Qualifications:
    • Researching, writing, and editing communication materials, such as news articles, reports, newsletters, news releases, brochures, handbooks, speeches, memorandums, and/or Congressional testimony; AND
    • Evaluating drafts and final reports, (logical and effective sequence, length and tone, etc.) based on the objectives, scope, and methodology of the inspection.
    • Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector, or volunteer service.
