Title: Junior Restoration Engineer

What’s the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time junior engineer to support habitat restoration planning, analysis, design, and construction projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. The applicant will have 0 to 2 years of experience working on river and stream restoration and/or fish passage projects including providing field assessments, data collection and analysis, hydraulic modeling, fluvial geomorphology, fish passage and restoration design and construction. An understanding of and experience with fluvial, coastal, and estuarine systems is required.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Performing hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic analyses to support habitat restoration and fish passage projects.
- Participating in the collection of field data; completing complex analyses and calculations with oversight.
- Preparing design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates for restoration projects with oversight.
- Developing project work and reports with oversight.
- Developing construction planning and observation documentation with oversight.
- Providing on-site construction observation and field engineering.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates are required to have the following:
- B.S. degree in civil, hydraulic, or ecological engineering.
- 0-4 years of experience working on river and stream restoration and/or fish passage projects.
- EIT license, or the ability to obtain such licensure within one year of hire date.
- Experience in ArcGIS and AutoCAD platforms and Microsoft Excel software.
- Ability to excel in a fast paced, detail and client service-oriented team environment and have proven ability to work across disciplines internally and externally.
- Willingness to travel seasonally for field work and construction projects for up to two weeks at a time.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to work well in diverse multi-disciplinary project teams.

What Are We Looking For?
Ideal candidates will have the following:
- M.S. degree in stream restoration, ecological, or hydraulic engineering.
- Proficiency in hydrologic analysis for rivers and streams.
- Proficiency in 1D and 2D hydrodynamic modeling software (HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SRH-2D).
- Experience with technical report writing.
- Construction observation and field engineering experience.
- Experience with topographic or bathymetric field surveying.
- Knowledge of Washington State’s environmental planning and regulatory environment and fisheries biology of the Pacific Northwest.

Salary and Other Compensation:
- Salary Range: $62,000- $86,000 annually
- Annual Bonus
- Other potential bonus types: Billable Time Bonus, Spot Bonus, Milestone Anniversary Bonus, Receiving Professional License/Certification Bonus, Peer-reviewed Publication Bonus, Employee Referral Bonus.
Base Level Benefits for Regular Full-Time Positions:
