SALARY RANGE: $95,580.00- $156,860.00
ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS: In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.
CPN Health Services personnel may be assigned to provide services to patients of all ages including but not limited to Indian Children and will require a criminal history background screening
JOB SUMMARY: This position serves as the supervisor of the clinical laboratory staff, at both CPN Clinics, to ensure the laboratory maintains full compliance with all federal, state and local regulations while providing prompt and accurate test results to the medical staff, which may be used to assess, diagnosis, or treat disease or impairment of the health of patients utilizing the services of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Health Complex.
· Supervises Medical Laboratory Technicians and Phlebotomists, maintaining an efficient and effective working environment while promoting intradepartmental and interdepartmental teamwork and excellence.
· Plans and implements the overall laboratory policies, procedures, and services for CPNHS.
· Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations, including quality control and compliance adherence.
· Interviews and recommends personnel for positions in the laboratory.
· Performs all responsibilities appropriately expected of a supervisor, including team building, staff development, monitoring of time records, prompt performance of staff appraisals, resolving disputes and documentation of disciplinary actions.
· Serves as the Technical Consultant for the laboratory according to CLIA regulatory requirements to include:
o Selects test methodologies appropriate for the environment.
o Verifies test procedures and establishes test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system.
o Enrolls and participates in a CMS approved proficiency testing program commensurate with the services offered in the laboratories and the Point of Care areas.
o Establishes a quality control program appropriate for the testing performed and establishes the parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensures that these levels are maintained throughout the testing process.
o Resolves technical problems and ensures that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the established specifications.
o Identifies training requirements for the laboratory and Point of Care areas.
o Evaluates the competency of all testing personnel in the laboratory and Point of Care areas and assures that the staff maintains their competency to perform test procedures, report test results promptly, accurately and proficiently.
· Keeps the Laboratory Director fully informed of the status of all aspects of the laboratory functions.
· Ensures the Laboratory is prepared for CLIA & AAAHC inspection process
o Maintains Quality Control records and Maintenance records for CLIA inspection.
· Ensures that all aspects of patient test management, including pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical events are maintained efficiently and effectively.
· Ensures that all equipment is maintained according to manufacturers guidelines and that all preventive maintenance contracts are kept current and in compliance.
· Is proficient in the use, programing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of RPMS, Data Innovations Middleware, and Electronic Health Record programs.
· Trains non-laboratory personnel in the proper use of Point of care instruments. Provides competency, remediation, and oversight of these programs.
· Is fully knowledgeable in the sub-specialties of Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis and Serology.
· Organizes, maintains, and audits all supply inventories.
· Plans and maintains the laboratory budget.
· Participates in clinic committees for Safety, GPRA, and Electronic Health Records.
· Oversees the maintenance of SDS manuals, Procedure Manuals, and Operating Manuals for the lab.
· Sets long term departmental goals and expansion needs.
· Performs annual employee evaluations, counseling and correction.
· Perform other duties and projects as required by management.
· Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences.
· Have a minimum of 8 years of laboratory experience or training, or both, in the designated specialty and subspecialty areas of service.
· Five years of supervisory experience
· Certified as a Medical Technologist, B.S. by American Society of Clinical Pathology..
· The ability to remain standing for prolonged periods of time.
· The ability to bend, stretch, and lift 35 pounds.
· The ability to work in a high stress environment.
· Meet all health care immunization requirements.
· General clinical environment with frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens and patient body fluids.
