Laboratory Courier picks up and delivers medical specimens and packages for a laboratory. Ensures timely, safe, and accurate delivery. Being a Laboratory Courier is responsible for maintenance and care of vehicle. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Laboratory Courier must be licensed to operate a vehicle. Licensing requirements depend on the state. Must have a "satisfactory" driving record. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Laboratory Courier may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The Courier supports the mission of providing quality healthcare to the patients of WhidbeyHealth by transporting all materials, including but not limited to, hazardous materials, confidential correspondence, protected health information, healthcare supplies and all other items in a safe and timely manner. **Weekend Duty / Holiday Rotation**
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Qualified candidates must have a current and valid Washington State Driver License and must be insurable under the facility's insurance carrier. Previous related experience is strongly preferred but not required, willing to train. Must have the ability to work within established deadlines and must possess effective, professional interpersonal skills as well as excellent service skills.
