Job Description Job title: Medical Courier

Reports to: Phlebotomy Manager

Schedule: M-F 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

The position has the potential to fill in as needed for call-ins or workloads.

Route: From Little Rock, AR to Poplar Bluff, MO

Job Overview In the medical courier role, you will be responsible for making accurate inventory checks and choosing suitable routes in order to ensure the punctual arrival of medical items. A key element of this role is being reliable while having strong directional skills to ensure efficient delivery. Success in this role will be demonstrated by transporting medical specimens safely while meeting aggressive deadlines.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Receive medical specimens and understand instructions from the healthcare facility.
• Ensure that medical item/s are securely stored in the delivery vehicle.
• Ensure that the documentation corresponds to each item.
• Ensure that all documentation is credible and accurate.
• Map out a route to the destination, considering traffic and mileage.
• Ensure the punctual collection and delivery of medical items from the healthcare facility.
• Ensure that recipients sign delivery receipts and designations are verified.
• Ensure the safety of each item delivered.
• Log mileage and maintenance information on the company logbook.
• Accurately count and take inventory of medical items to be collected or delivered.
• Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations.
• Medical Courier Requirements:
• Current HIPAA certification (essential).
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (essential).
• 2 years of experience as a medical courier (preferred).
