Laboratory Services Director jobs in Sumter, SC
Laboratory Services Director manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Services Director plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Services Director orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Laboratory Services Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. - Degree in Social Work from a school or university accredited by the council on Social Work education - preferable MSW, but BSW encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of the medical case management process, needs of geriatric patients, health care settings, working knowledge of funding resources such as Medicare Part A, B, C, ad D, Medicaid, Managed Care and other private insurances
- Imagination and creative ability, skill in working cooperatively with other professionals, ability to organize and carry out responsibilities efficiently and effectively
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately both verbally and in writing in a wide variety of circumstances
- Long Term Care experienced preferred
Position Highlights:
- Implementing a comprehensive social services program that provides support services for patients and families in the center
- Demonstrating teamwork characteristics by building a positive team approach
- Ensuring the quality of social services rendered by the center
- Understanding and abiding by established policies of the health care center and interpret them to concerned parties
- Providing direction to department in meeting center's goals and objectives
Requirements:
- MSW preferred, BSW encouraged
- Long term care experience preferred
