Reporting to the Clinical Laboratory Director, the Laboratory Assistant Director oversees the team in both clinical and administrative responsibilities. This Leader will be assisted by a Laboratory Supervisor and work alongside Managers of other Ancillary Departments. The Laboratory will be made up of Laboratory Technicians, Medical Technologists, and Phlebotomists. 

The Laboratory Assistant Director spearheads projects to enhance quality metrics and increase resource utilization, along with being responsible for budgeting. This Leader will tend to the machinery, as well as training the staff on proper protocols and procedures. If necessary, this Assistant Director handles emergency situations or high intensity lab processing. Along with the technical accountability is the oversight of the staff, in hiring, orienting, and maintaining education.
