Laboratory Technician jobs in Portsmouth, OH

The Laboratory Technician evaluates, assists, and performs analytical functions to obtain optimum chemistry, serology, and urinalysis results and coordinates post-analytical laboratory functions.

Duties/Responsibilities:
•    Performs, evaluates, and records quality control procedures as defined by laboratory procedure or established protocol; performs and documents appropriate corrective action before reporting patient results.
•    Reports laboratory results defined by the patient’s clinical condition and laboratory policy for routine, one-hour turnaround, timed, and stat reporting.
•    Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting as needed and as defined by manufacturer’s and laboratory guidelines and utilizes appropriate backup procedures for laboratory procedure analysis until instrument repair is complete.

Education:
Associate’s degree in biology or chemistry science required
