The Lactation Consultant is responsible for providing lactation management services to new parents. These functions are performed in accordance with the hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

• Education:- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.Experience- Previous experience in maternal-child health nursing.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. - Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification required. (IBCLC certification preferred) - - Completion of Breastfeeding Continuing Education Program (BCEP) required during employment.Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities and to possess the necessary physical requirements with or without the aid of mechanical devices to safely perform the essential functions of the job.1.
